Parade History

Welcome to the official web site of the Union County New Jersey Saint
Patrick's Day Parade.
Our Parade Committee was founded in 1995 by a group of Irish American
and Fraternal organizations. Our first parade stepped off in 1997
in the Township of Union, and through the cooperative efforts of the
Committee, the Township, the County of Union, our corporate Sponsors,
advertisers, and public participation, it has grown to be the largest
St. Patrick's Day Parade in New Jersey.
We pride ourselves in putting a family oriented parade on the street,
with special attention paid to the young (and young at heart). Opening
ceremonies feature Irish Step Dancers, Bagpipers, and entertainment for
the children including clowns and face painters.
If you are interested in becoming involved in our endeavors, simply
click on the "Contacts" link for a full list of officers and
committee members as well as how to contact them.
The Parade Committee sponsors fund raisers throughout the year so be
sure to check for dates and information on the "Events" page.
In addition to the Parade Committee, many of our organizations will be
hosting dances, picnics, fund raisers, etc., so look for their
dates as well on this site.
